The Cinematic Arts department is the newest of the arts departments at DA and is quickly making a name for itself by producing professional-level filmmakers and award-winning films.

In the Department’s state-of-the-art studio and editing facilities, students learn the complete process of movie making. Students receive instruction in screenwriting, cinematography, lighting, and post-production. They script, shoot, and edit original films.

Cinematic Arts majors have won a variety of awards in local, state, and national competitions. The focus of the program is to prepare students for post-secondary education or entry into the film or television industry. In addition, competitions provide an avenue for networking, which allows students to see what others are producing and while providing valuable feedback on student productions.
